Scouting

There are always many talented Ottawa high school players that fly under the university or college radar.  To give some of these local players national exposure, I started Ottawa’s first annual high school scouting combine.  I invited university and college coaches to come to the city and evaluate the top 30 high school basketball players.  The combine has evolved into a showcase with the event being opened to the public with all proceeds going to charity  (Sickle Cell Disease Parents' Support Group).  Along with the university and college coaches, high school and club coaches were invited to evaluate and help choose the top players.  I had an all-star team from Toronto come into town to play against the top 12 players selected by all the coaches in attendance.

The event is capped off with an open 3pt and slam dunk competition
